Content licensing recovery for creators

Brands are still running your content. You should be getting paid.

Owed tracks every licence on your brand deals, catches content running past the agreed window, and recovers the money you're owed. Professionally, in our name — so it never gets personal.

What our research found

Almost nobody checks. Nobody ever gets paid.

We interviewed creators, talent managers and brands. Every side described the same thing: once a campaign wraps, the content keeps working — and the creator side goes silent.

"I got served my own face on Facebook — they'd been using it for six months and I just hadn't noticed. You lose track of them all."

"We don't hear anything from the creator's side once the video is live. It usually goes quiet."

How it works

Evidence first. Then a professional conversation.

No court. No drama. It's the invoice the brand skipped — prepared properly and delivered by a third party, so the relationship stays intact.

Audit

We review your deals — free

Send us your recent brand deals. We reconstruct the usage terms, sweep ad libraries and brand channels, and tell you exactly what's still running, what's winnable, and what it's worth.

Evidence

Everything gets documented before anyone is contacted

Timestamped captures of every placement. Brands can delete an ad — they can't delete our record of it running.

Recover

We handle the conversation

A professional notice in our name, priced off your original rate. Most cases resolve by email — brands would usually rather pay a fair licence fee than lose an ad that's working. If it needs to escalate, a ready-built file goes to our legal partner.

Protect

Nothing gets past you again

Ongoing monitoring across every live deal — expiry alerts, renewals handled, clean terms on every new agreement. Caught early, an overrun becomes a paid extension instead of a dispute.

You risk nothing. We only earn when you do.

Questions

The honest answers

Is this legal action? Will I end up in court?

No. This is a commercial conversation, not a lawsuit. Think of it as the invoice the brand skipped: if they'd asked to keep using your content, you'd have charged them — they just didn't ask. Most cases resolve by email. If a matter ever needs legal escalation, that's always your call, and a ready-built file makes it cheap and fast.

Won't this damage my relationship with the brand?

This is exactly why Owed exists. The notice comes from us, not you — a third party raising a routine licensing matter. It's business admin, not a personal dispute. Brands handle licensing conversations all the time; what damages relationships is creators having to be the bad guy themselves.

What if there was never a proper contract?

Often still workable. Email and DM threads that set out the deal count for a lot — and with no agreement at all, the brand has no licence whatsoever, which strengthens the takedown position even where the fee is harder to price. We'll tell you honestly in the audit what's winnable and what isn't.

Is this debt collection?

No. We don't chase unpaid invoices — that's a different, regulated business. Owed deals with content licensing: usage beyond the agreed window, platforms that were never licensed, or use with no licence at all. If a brand is running your content while an invoice sits unpaid, that's an unlicensed usage matter — and that we do act on.

What does it cost?

The audit is free. Recovery is no win, no fee — 25% of what actually lands in your account, nothing otherwise. Ongoing protection starts at £250/month for individual creators and £2,500/month for talent rosters.

Owed was founded after nine years running creator campaigns for global consumer brands — and watching content quietly outlive its licence on every side of the industry. We built the thing that was missing: someone in the creator's corner, keeping score.
